Women’s Society of Christian Service

WSCS stands for Women’s Society of Christian Service and is one of our ladies groups here at Ebenezer.

The WSCS organizes and hosts two of our major community outreach events…the Ham and Bean Supper in the spring, and our Chili Supper in the fall.  Both are long-standing traditions at Ebenezer and bring folks from all around our community.  Along with the delicious food, we always have great raffles, door prizes, and a “bazaar” with great gifts and scrumptious baked goods.

In addition to the Ham and Bean Supper and the Chili Supper, WSCS reaches out by:

  • Putting together “welcome baskets” for Ebenezer guests
  • Providing fruit baskets at Christmas
  • Offering food for families at Thanksgiving and adopting families at Christmas
  • Giving Mother’s Day and Father’s Day gifts for moms and dads in the congregation
  • Sponsoring two Rainbow Network mission children
  • Donating to various local charities and fundraisers
  • Assisting families in the neighborhood with things like meals in times of bereavement

You can get more information about the WSCS by calling Vernetta Sare at 417-742-2909.

Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live…then they can train the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self controlled and pure.
